The Scottish Patient Safety Programme (SPSP) Fellowship was set up in 2008 to develop and strengthen clinical leadership capacity and improvement capability within the NHS in Scotland – and to thereby develop long-term sustainability in patient safety and quality improvement activity. This scenario introduces the Scottish Patient Safety Programme (SPSP) Fellowship, where around 50 Fellows have now completed the leadership programme; this scenario is one example from primary care demonstrating the impact of the fellowship.
